The exact price depends on the scale of the project (pages, languages, integrations). For a typical cosmetics and beauty business, our dedicated package is the simplest route.
EU Regulation 1223/2009 (cosmetic products): mandatory CPNP notification, Responsible Person, PIF (Product Information File), claims backed by evidence, INCI on the label. EU Regulation 655/2013 on cosmetic claims (no medical claims). GDPR for accounts and marketing. Consumer Code: 14-day right of withdrawal, but limited for sealed products once opened (art. 59 letter e).
Frequently asked questions
shopify & shopify plus for a cosmetics and beauty: how long does a project typically take?
It depends on the scale, but for most cases we're talking about 2-4 weeks from sign-off to going live, content included. For complex cases (many languages, integrations with industry software) it can take 6-8 weeks.
Can I start even if I don't have all my content (text, photos) ready?
Yes. We offer copy support and image selection as a separate package, or we proceed with placeholders and swap them in along the way. The important thing is to nail the positioning before the design phase.
Can I update the site on my own after delivery?
Yes. We deliver with a simple editorial panel (organised by content type) and 2 hours of training included. For structural changes (new sections, new templates) we step in.
Does the site comply with cosmetics and beauty industry regulations?
Yes. For this industry we take into account: EU Regulation 1223/2009 (cosmetic products): mandatory CPNP notification, Responsible Person, PIF (Product Information File), claims backed by evidence, INCI on the label. EU Regulation 655/2013 on cosmetic claims (no medical claims). GDPR for accounts and marketing. Consumer Code: 14-day right of withdrawal, but limited for sealed products once opened (art. 59 letter e). We always start from compliance, we don't add it afterwards.
Why does a cosmetics and beauty project cost more than a generic site?
The cosmetics and beauty industry requires specific features, regulatory compliance and an architecture that works for its audience. What's optional on a generic site is included by default here — and it's cheaper to do it right from the start than to fix it later.
Shopify or WooCommerce for my e-commerce store?
It depends. Shopify if you want management autonomy, scalability with no technical worries, a best-in-class checkout, and you accept the monthly fee ($29-389/month standard, $2,000/month on Plus). WooCommerce if you want full control of the code, handle the technical side in-house (server, security, updates), and have very specific customisation needs. In 80% of Italian SME cases, Shopify is the more rational choice: less time lost on technical problems, more time on product and marketing.
What's the difference between a custom Liquid theme and headless Hydrogen?
Custom Liquid theme: classic Shopify, frontend and backend integrated within Shopify, fast development, simple maintenance, excellent up to 5,000-10,000 products. Headless Hydrogen: a Next.js-like frontend (Remix) fully separated, with Shopify staying as the backend (catalogue, orders, checkout), extreme performance on huge catalogues (50,000+ SKUs), and total freedom of design and integrations. Headless costs twice as much in development and maintenance: it only makes sense on enterprise projects where the performance and flexibility deliver measurable ROI.
How does SDI e-invoicing work?
Shopify doesn't natively handle Italian e-invoicing (SDI/XML). We integrate one of the recognised providers (Fattura24, Aruba Fatturazione, Fatture in Cloud) via a Shopify app or a custom webhook: for each order, the integration generates the XML invoice, signs it and transmits it to the SDI automatically. The provider costs €5-30/month depending on invoice volume. A one-off configuration during project setup, then it runs on its own.
Are Italian couriers integrated?
Yes, native integrations with BRT, GLS, SDA, Poste Italiane and DHL Italy. Dynamic rate quoting at checkout (the user sees the real shipping cost based on weight/destination), waybill generation, automatic tracking and customer notifications. For smaller couriers or local carriers we assess case by case: some expose modern APIs, others require aggregators (ShippyPro, Qapla').
Can I migrate from Magento/PrestaShop without losing SEO?
Yes, it's one of the reasons clients choose us. Full URL mapping with 1:1 301 redirects from the old domain to the new one (preserving Google ranking), preservation of existing meta titles/descriptions and schema markup, migration of product reviews, order history and customer accounts (with a mandatory password reset for security). Typical migration timeline: 3-5 weeks for stores up to 2,000 products; beyond that it depends on the custom complexity of the old store.
How much does Shopify cost per month?
Basic plan $29/month, Shopify $79/month, Advanced $299/month (the standard range for Italian SMEs), Shopify Plus from $2,000/month (enterprise, revenue >€1M/year). On top of the fixed fee, Shopify takes a commission on every transaction (0.5-2% depending on the plan) if you do NOT use Shopify Payments. If you use Shopify Payments the transaction commission is zero, and you only pay the card fees (1.4-2.4% standard). You pay the platform costs directly, and we take no markup.
